Native Apps vs. Web Apps

Apps is a good solution for many business problems. But, the big question for the mobile app development company is to decide which type of app will be beneficial, the native one or the web.  A web app is basically an internet based app, tailored for a specific platform and it is easy to get. A native app is a software that is developed in the operating system of the computer, using the technologies provided by that particular system. They are coded with specific programming languages and can be installed by running the app on the system.

To decide the best solution, let us compare the following features.

1. Accessibility – The native app is compatible with the device’s hardware features, such as the camera et al. But, the user will have to keep downloading updates for such kind of app. On the other hand, a web app, updates itself, though it can access only  some of the  device’s hardware feature.

2. User Interface of the apps  – Well, the user interface of both the apps is more or less the same. Depending on the type of app development, the choice can be made.

3. Efficiency – Although the native apps include much expensive development process, they are faster and highly efficient. They also work in tandem with the mobile device. The quality  of these apps is high and the users can download them via app stores. For the web apps, the maintenance cost is high across all the mobile platforms and its quality standards are not controlled by a regulatory authority.

4. Monetization – For the native apps, monetization is a tricky process as the mobile device manufacturers have their own restrictions. While, the web app monetization can be done in a way of advertisements, charging membership fees and so on. Though it requires the setup of your own payment system.
